Welcome to my blog!

If I'm being entirely honest with you, I don't actually post too often on this blog, but you know if you want to follow me go for it. When I do post though, I often post recipes or random things like life updates or whatever. It's honestly just a hobby blog, anything that I'm currently into might get posted here. I also have another blog where I review things (movies, TV shows, books, mostly books) @ Anjibooks, so if you're looking for a good book or anything, definitely go check that out.

What an ungrateful, disingenuous person you are to ask of my time, and then respond to my generous gesture of giving my time by misrepresenting our conversation with your alleged colleague. Not only did you THANK me for the conversation we had, but you asked me if I would mind speaking later with your colleague in a follow up interview, to which I kindly AGAIN, agreed to do.

You are offended that I asked your nationality. Do you know, I frequently ask peoples nationality, for a variety of reasons, none of which EVER are to denegrate them. I had a builder at my house the other day who was syrian, and I asked his nationality. I worked in long term care for many years with those afflicted with Alzheimers, and I had the great privilege of working with people from Nigeria, Jamaica, the Phillipines, Poland, Kenya, Cuba, and so forth. And how do you think I found this information out?? I asked. Just like people frequently ask me if I'm Italian. And know all of my coworkers roots, it was wonderful as an activities director to be able to have cultural events on the Alzheimers unit, that celebrated the various cultures as well as diversity in general.

And where in the conversation did I attack your food choices. I asked if you were vegan. I opened myself up by agreeing to an interview with you to ANY question. And yet you feel my questions and comments were attacking??

By the way, as I explained, the reason I asked in our particular conversation what nationality you are, which you took offense to for some reason, is because my understanding, from my own personal experience is that some cultures diets are more laden with meat than others. My one neice in law is Vietnamese, and the other is Filipino. Additionally, one of my son in laws is African-American and the other is Cuban. And my best friend of 32 years is Puerto Rican. And I do know that their traditional diets rely greatly on meat. Much more so than my Itialian heritage which relies heavily on cheese, and seems to be the biggest hurdle when trying to convince other Italians to go vegan...."I could never give up the cheese". These were not racist comments. Nor did I make assumptions. I asked. I simply ASKED. Should I have known you were adopted?? Moreso, why would I ever assume someone would be offended by me asking their nationality unless for some reason they they were ashamed of it themselves. Divirsity is beautiful. Perhaps you are the one who needs to examine your own heart and see where your animosity is coming from.

Last, that you did not speak to me directly, speaks to your immaturity. You will learn a hard lesson my dear. Because what you put out there comes back to kick you in the ass. That is no threat, just the way life works. That said, I will reach out to your department head and let them know how I was spoken to by your colleague after generously giving of my time AND offering to give more time.

Additionally, I will be investigating what the true nature of this inquiry is. Since you are a environmental major, I have to wonder based on the line of questioning whether you true intent was to see if vegans only care about animals, or whether they give thought to the environment as well. I felt even at the time you were perhaps looking to find hypocrisy or contradictions in MY food choices.

You should be ashamed of how you treated someone who genuinely tried to be of service to you. This will NOT be the end of this.
