Welcome to my blog!

If I'm being entirely honest with you, I don't actually post too often on this blog, but you know if you want to follow me go for it. When I do post though, I often post recipes or random things like life updates or whatever. It's honestly just a hobby blog, anything that I'm currently into might get posted here. I also have another blog where I review things (movies, TV shows, books, mostly books) @ Anjibooks, so if you're looking for a good book or anything, definitely go check that out.

This has certainly been an interesting year, full of some surprising events as well as fun experiences. Honestly, it doesn't really feel like the year is ending because for me, how I see years is the school year. A new year starts when a new school year starts. So my new year will be more like when a start Sophomore year (I'm going to be a Sophomore? That's not scary at all....)
Anyway, as of the fact that I didn't set any goals at the end of 2014, at least not any memorable goals, I can't make a blog post about how accomplished I am because I met my goals. Huh. That makes me think I should set some goals for 2016. Ah, that's so weird. I can't believe it's 2016 already! I can still clearly remember it being 2011. Before we all thought the world was going to end.
Anyway... What should I do for my goals this year? Let's see.
Goal Number 1. I want to finish my novel this year- at least the first draft- and start editing it.
Goal Number 2. I want to be able to keep up my good grades and stay focused on my school work and education
Goal Number 3. Umm... Work on getting better at writing
Goal Number 4. UPDATE MY BLOGS MORE. I feel like I'm always starting every blog post off with "Sorry for not posting in so long." Yes, I'm busy, but I really need to actually start setting aside time for my blogs. I mean, I completely ditched one blog I started in 2013, which I feel rather guilty about but whatever.
Gal Number 5.  Try new things while cooking and baking.
Anyway, there's five goals for the new year. Maybe I'll try to make some more later. Who knows.
Picture
2015 has certainly been an event filled year. I mean, here's a SHORT list of things I've done this year.
1. 8th Grade Play
2. SPRING BREAK IN ST. KITTS (That was amazing)
3. Started getting interested in Soap and Candle making when I made soap and candles for mother's day
4. Got the academic award (which was awesome because I've wanted that for as long as I can remember)
5. . I graduated elementary school
6. went tubing in North Carolina (always love that)
7. took a family trip to the beach
8. STARTED HIGH SCHOOL
9. ...
Wow, either this year was way too short or I was really lazy. Probably a mixture of both.
Oh! Here's a new resolution
Goal no. 5. Read more.
Let's see, I read over one hundred books this year. I want to try and read more next year :) You can never read too many books. (Seriously, if you want a good book to read, check out my review website- anjibooks.weebly.com)

This is the year my mom died, which, still, has yet to hit me. Which is weird. When I envisioned my mom dying I definitely thought I'd be a lot more sad about it. But I guess I still really haven't fully realized it yet. My theory behind this is that since I didn't hang out with my mom a lot, I haven't especially noticed she's gone.
Picture
St. Kitts was an especially fun vacation- I forget whether or not I ever made post on it, but that was probably my most favorite vacation of all time. It was a spectacular amount of fun and I tried things that were way out of my comfort zone that include zip lining (I have a horrid fear of heights) and scuba diving (I wouldn't mind doing that again.)

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read my blog this year and I'll see you in 2016 <3

I originally wanted to wait to make this post until I had downloaded the pictures from the dance but if we’re being honest here, I either will be too busy or procrastinating, so I better get it done now.
Anyway, this past weekend was our Charter Day Weekend (Homecoming) and it was fun. Thursday evening the field hockey team started off the Charter Day celebration with the Field Hockey Game under the lights. The JV played first. Unfortunately we lost 2-0 but it was actually a pretty good game, the ball was never on one side for very long. Also, I found out later that that wasn’t even the Hun School’s JV team, so yeah, I’m pretty proud of that game. I’m also really proud of how I played in that game, so even though I would’ve liked to win, I don’t really mind the lose much. On the other hand, our Varsity played amazing (as usual) and won against the Huns 4-3.
Yeah, they were called the Hun School. I really wanted to sing “Let’s get down to business to defeat the Huns!” (Mulan) as our team cheer but I was afraid they’d beat me up. And seriously, number 9 was trying to shove me over 30% of the game. Not appreciated, number nine.
On Friday morning we marched to the Cathedral. I won’t lie here, I was very close to falling asleep during that worship service. I was tired and seriously, long worship service + morning = sleeping students. Anyway, if you follow my instagram (anjicooper) you’d see I posted a picture after the service.
P.S. I was bending my knees MY HAIR IS NOT ACTUALLY THAT LONG

If you want to stay caught up with my life and other stuffs feel free to follow me on Instagram (anjicooper / anjibooks), Facebook and Twitter (anjibooks)
After the march and the long chapel service, Zia, Emily Cooper, Sammy Hill and I went down to Kim’s Nails to get out nails done. I also got my eyebrows waxed. I’m very happy with how my nails turned out, Zia was less impressed with hers, though.
The silver goes well with the belt of my dress. :) Then after that, I had lunch and pretty much just chilled at my house until Zia came home and did my make up. I’m forever grateful to Emily for being willing to do my hair. Emily, if you’re reading this (which is highly doubtful) Thank you! You’re awesome and I love you.
For Charter Day, my group met at the Lambertus house for pictures and then went to the Churchville Inn for dinner. Josh was an okay date, I mean he paid for dinner (even though I offered to) but during dinner he was on his phone and then at the dance he kinda disappeared. But whatever, I still had a good time and we got pictures so that’s good. I’ll post the pre dance pictures whenever I get around to downloading them off my camera.
The dance was fun but it was a lot smaller than I expected. Hardly any of the school showed up, which surprised me. I’m also rather an awkward dancer so… I met a cute guy though. He’s one of my friend’s friends from another school. He was awkward and nice too. Anyway, here are some pictures from the actual dance.
It was pretty fun. I’m glad I attended. It was nothing to get too stressed out about, though. A piece of advice to anyone going to a dance, don’t get too stressed out about it. It’s not the end of the world and no one is going to super judge you. The biggest person that’s going to judge you is you. So if you don’t want to shave, don’t. Though, you might want to shave solely for how it feels when you get into bed and your sheets feel like SILK. It’s an amazing feeling and a dance is great motivation for shaving. Because if we’re being honest here, I don’t shave a lot. And don’t judge me here because I don’t actually need to shave a lot, I have darker skin so you can’t see the hair much and my leg hair grows about the same amount in a month as my friends’ does in two days. I don’t need to shave much. I might make a post on that later.
After Charter Day, I got home and my feet hurt a bit but I did take an excellent selfie with Lily. She even looked at the camera!
The rest of Charter Day weekend I mostly crafted aside from on Saturday I went to the Charter Day football game and hung out with my friend Kaylee- she lives near Chicago and came over for the weekend. It was fun. I made a bunch of cute soaps and some really cute cupcake candles-
If anyone is interested, I’m selling my soaps, lip balms, scrubs and candles so feel free to contact me. Anyway, today was experimental learning day and I did photography, I took a bunch of really artsy pictures, so I’ll probably make a post on that too. :)
See ya guys next time

High School

Three weeks ago, I had my first actual day in high school. It was a big moment for me and let me tell you, I was nervous as what. Practically shivering with nervousness (and a twinge of excitement) I stepped into my new school, the Academy of the New Church, or ANC. The first day is called Orientation where the new kids get some things explained to them and you meet all your classmates (new and old) and your teachers. It was quite the interesting (and nerve racking) experience. What if I did something wrong and everyone in the entire school thought I was a freak for the rest of the year?

Luckily, I didn’t do much anything wrong. Aside from walking into the piano on the way out of the auditorium. That was embarrassing. On orientation, we get our yearbook pictures taken and get talked to by some teachers in the morning. Then, after lunch, we have 20 minute classes, introducing us to all our new teachers and showing us where our new classrooms are.

That was fun, we met all our new teachers and got introduced to our classes. Our soft-speaking History teacher- who turned out to be completely awesome. The English teacher- she’s hilarious, Freshman English class is a lot of fun. Religion- surprisingly one of the best classes I have this year. Latin, we’re actually learning a lot in a fun way. Geometry- Our teacher, Mr. Glenn is quite hilarious and sarcastic. I also love his teaching beliefs and method. And IPS, the most dreaded class of Freshman Year. Why? Because the grading system is so completely harsh in that class. It is, but it’s more interesting than science class back in elementary.

Surprisingly, by the end of the first week of school, I had already fallen into the ‘hang’ of things. Only 3 weeks ago I walked into ANC for the first time, but by now I already have gotten a feel for things.

Unsurprisingly, High School is a lot more work than elementary. Sometimes I swear the teachers all get together and just think oh, wow, I think we all should just pile on all the homework for Tuesday! or Let’s all have big tests/quizzes on Wednesday!

Usually school work isn’t overwhelming for me, I just stress myself out about it. It isn’t overwhelming, yet, but I do find myself working on it quite late. My school week schedule is something like this

Wake up

Go back to sleep

Actually get up, have breakfast, get ready for school and then go to school

go to school

field hockey

homework

sleep

Start cycle over again.

But I’m actually really enjoying high school. It gives a lot more freedom than Elementary did. A lot of my classes give five or more minutes of break in between. That’s the best part because if I’m super tired, I can run down to Mare’s, the school store, to buy coffee. The only issue is that I am spending way too much money down there on food, haha.

If you didn’t gather, I’m also now playing field hockey. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it at first, but it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. I really enjoy being on the team and playing. Drills aren’t that great and I swear I’m probably allergic to sprinting but field hockey is a great way to get excise, meet new people and it looks really good on college transcripts.

Games are definitely a lot of fun. Except when big girls that are totally loosing decide to hit me with their stick when ‘going for the ball’. Hmph. Not that I’m resentful that my right hand hurts or anything.

The one thing I’m stressed out over is Charter Day. Charter Day is our ‘homecoming’ dance. It’s the day our school Charter was signed or something like that. NO ONE HAS ASKED ME YET. Yeah, I am the type to stress out about things but it’s three weeks to Charter Day and now is the time to ask. And no one has asked me yet. This is stressful. Especially since I only have one class with guys and it’s only two guys- Atticus and Louie- a new addition to the class of 2019. But there’s no one specific I really want to ask me but I would like someone to ask me.

Hmm, what else is there to tell? I guess if you’re reading this, I should just tell you that high school is a lot of fun and not to stress over it (like I did). As long as you keep up with your work and study for your tests, so far I’ve found it works.

ANC Camp was definitely more fun than I was expecting it to be but at the same time a lot less fun than I was expecting it to be. I really enjoyed meeting new people and the classes were fun, but getting up early? eh. Also, being super-ish extroverted for a week is EXHAUSTING for an introvert and yet somehow I was able to accomplish it. But it was worth it, I made a lot of new friends there that I hope to stay in contact with. I think I'll probably go back again next year unless you know, I'm doing something more interesting like gong to Italy *cough* *cough* (that was directing towards, my parents)

DAY ZERO
Day Zero was the day we arrived. I was really upset because I didn't really want to be there and I was nervous. But my sister talked to the counselors, who happened to be her friends, so people made me go out and socialize. So, being the outgoing girl that I am, I talked to Atticus. But as we waited in line for dinner, I talked to my cuzzy, Ivy. That's when I made my first new friend, Jordan. We bonded over making fun of Ivy's luscious eyelashes. Seriously, that boy could be in a mascara commercial.
Food in Bean Hall kinda sucked but whatever.
Day Zero evening we all went down to the field house and played some games like lover's leap. Jordan and I partnered up for that and lasted pretty long in the first game, but then in the second game we got out pretty quickly. Then we got together with our teams and played some team games. The Purple Team (aka my team) won the first game. The second game we tied balloons to our ankles and tried to pop the other teams' balloons. Purple came in second and Orange first. Then we went back to the dorms, got ready for bed and had hall meetings. Oh, by the way, my roommate was AWESOME. I loved her, Leigh was a great roommate. Hall meetings was when our entire hall just sat in the hall and talked about the day and such. Curfew was 11 and we had to get up at 7:30 (I couldn't wait to sleep for the next 25 hours when I got home) I was on the hall on the third floor at the end. Running up all the stairs and down the hall was so much fun. The girl's dorm was freezing , which was also great.
Day 1
Getting up was a pain. Literally, I had a horrible headache and a gas bubble pressuring my stomach. Honestly, I was just feeling  crappy, so breakfast, church and religion class were kinda a blur. My first class was the science of cooking. That was a lot of fun. And halfway through that class my pains had subsided. On the first day I was in a group with Percy and Liam. We were making Lemon Merengue pie and testing the best ways to make it. Our group just made it regularly and I gotta say, our pie was GOOD. Probably because I made it, but whateves. There were three other pies, so right before lunch, we all had to try four different slices of pies. Lunch that day was a chicken sandwich. I just took the chicken, lettuce, tomato and onion out and ate it. My break was from 1-3 so I had a break right after lunch. During break I met someone who had befriended Ryan. His name is The Other Evan. Well, that's what I called him. You see, I met a different Evan on the purple team so The Other Evan I met after. There was Sweepy Haired Evan and the Other Evan. We played some games in the girl's dorm lobby (the guy's called it the hotel, they called their dorm the prison, ha) Then the sharpies came out and we all started drawing on each other. If the Other Evan doesn't get blood poisoning, I don't know who will. I drew an epic flower on like everyone. You'd be jealous of my skillz. Like, I can tell you wish you had one of my flower tats. Anyway, after break, I headed over to yoga. That class was a lot of fun. I'm actually more flexible than some of the girls that were in my class. That was surprising. My favorite part of yoga? we got to nap at the end of class. After yoga was dinner then after dinner on the first night we had the pool party. Except it ended after like 45 minutes and a quarter of the way into the belly flop contest because of thunder. I'm not sure what happened with the boys, but the girls' counselors went out on a Wendy's run for us. That was delicious. We had our hall meeting and then went to bed... or not. At like 11:15 the intercom came on and we were told to come down to the lobby. Surprise Dance Party! So, I'm an awkward dancer aka I don't dance, but I eventually got pulled into it. I enjoyed it.
Day 2
I felt okay when I woke up! The second day's religion (for me) was especially boring. I was awake before but after I was ten times more tired. For cooking we made steak and chicken. Kate and Henry were on my team. Henry decided to put a whole stick of butter in the pan, so when I flipped the chicken, the butter went everywhere, including my shirt. My tummy has now been burned and I'm afraid it might scar. UPDATE (this was written a while ago) my burn scar didn't actually scar.  During break we played werewolf (like mafia). Later, when the sharpies came out, I drew more on Evan. But then somehow Henry and I got in a sharpie war. Oh, I remember how, I drew a manly flower of manliness on him and then wrote I <3 Anji Cooper on him. Then he wanted revenge and then the war started. I won. I feel bad, though. I opened a sharpie to sneak attack his neck but it exploded an now his shirt is like, special looking. Yoga was cool. Dinner was...eh... Day two was roller skating. I didn't want to because I'd make a fool of myself (I've never done it before) but Zia made me promise to be like outgoing (oh and I made a lot of new friends that I didn't mention) so yeah, I had to. Everyone now apparently thinks Atticus and I are dating/ we'd make a great couple and I'm just like NO WE'RE BEST FRIENDS. THAT'S IT. We were only holding hands because Atticus kept falling and I needed someone to propel me. Henry was laughing at me because he was like pro. -_- No one asked me to the boys choice skate, which was a little disappointing but whatever. I skated almost the whole time. For the girl's choice skate Niah and I skated together. We both sucked at it. Then we drove back and had Vespers. I didn't establish this before, showering in the dorms was a pain in the, well, butt and everywhere else. There was like, literally no water pressure. By the end of the week Fiona always complained that I was and I quote five hours late to every hall meeting. That was a lie. I was like ten minutes max late to two of the hall meetings.

Picture
Day 3
WEDNESDAY. Religion was fun, we had Mr. Halterman, he was amusing. We made a lot of different kinds of eggs for cooking, so it wasn't especially interesting. Especially because I dislike eggs. Lunch was eh and break was fun. Yoga was cool. We did headstands along with other stuff. Dinner, eh, as usual. Wednesday night was the Gym Jam. First we went around in a giant rock, paper, scissors competition and then we were released to do one of the many activities. What did I do? I literally did Twister the whole two hours. Won both times, too. You may beat me no competition in sporty things but I would totally win in a twister competition. I beat the Other Evan. haha. (he's highly competitive, like me, we fought a lot about stuff)
Day 4
Olympics. Everyone was like OMG the olympics are the most fun part. Eh, not really. At least, I didn't think they were that fun. In cooking we made a lot of sauces. Henry and I made Marinara sauce together. It tasted amazing but somehow I burned my hand. Whenever Henry and I were on a team together I burned something. Bad luck charm, much? Over break the Other Evan and I got in a fight over who knew the correct version of the card game, Spit. If you ever run into the Other Evan, please inform him that his version is wrong because I obviously know the right version. But for the most part of break, Atticus and I just hung out because almost everyone went to BATS for clothing for the olympics. Yoga was cool, as usual. Dinner, the same. Then we had like an hour to get ready for the olympics. I really wished I'd bought that tutu. Next year I'm totally buying one. I just wore a purple T-shirt and shorts. But then i tied a purple bow to pull my hair back, had purple written in purple across my forehead. Purple streaks on my cheeks and purple lipstick. The olympics were kinda ruined for me on the second thing because we had to get super dizzy and I felt sick for the rest of the time. It started thundering so we had to go inside the field house after the second task. After the fourth thing the fire alarm went off. Seriously, we were in the field house and the fire sirens went off for like five seconds before stopping in front of the building. There was no fire so to this day we don't know if someone pulled it to be funny or something happened with the lightning (there was a lot of it) At the end of the olympics the Purple, yellow, and red team sang to the green, blue and orange teams. They sang back. We were just singing back and forth to each other. Apparently that's never happened before.
OH! I forgot to tell you about challenges! Everyday your counselor gives you the minimum of one challenges to do. At first they were simple like find out three things about a new boy you don't know. or clears 20 people's plate. They got more complicated as the days go on. A lot of the time involving camp crushes.
Day 5
The last day. In cooking we made candy. Dude, I still have like a twenty pound bag of homemade candy. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all of it. Yoga, same. Break- we played games and such. After yoga I showered. dinner happened sooner than expected so I was like running to the dining hall with soaking wet, hardly brushed hair. Then after dinner we had to get ready for the dance party. I wore a purple dress and the same heels I wore for graduation. The boys escorted us to the mitchel performing arts center, Layne escorted me. There, we watched the slideshow and then continued onto the dance party. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it but that was totally my favorite part of camp. I just let loose and it was a lot of fun. Slow dancing was fun too. I slow danced with Colin, Atticus, Henry x2, Andrew and Kevin. We had no curfew on the last night and could actually go into each other's rooms. So Mariah slept over with Leigh and I.
Then the last morning, was breakfast and then mostly packing. Zia (she got her drivers license, we're all going to die.) I hugged a bunch of girls plus Henry and Other Evan goodbye and we left.
All in all ANC camp was fun but not as fun as expectations were set. The best part was meeting new people and the dance party. I will be going back next year and well, yeah.
Did you have fun reading all that or did you just skim? If you skimmed -_- cheater.

Graduated

I've officially graduated from Middle School. Ah this feels so weird. Yes, yes, I know, graduating middle school is nothing compared to college and high school, but right now it seems pretty big. This Thursday I went out to lunch with Atticus, Ryan, Josh and Josh's little sister, Emme. It was fun. I had to leave early (2) because my mom and Aunt Sandy were taking me to get my nails done. I also got my eyebrows waxed. I used a blue color that matched my dress almost perfectly on both my fingers and toes. And then I got sparkles put on my... I don't know what it's called the finger next to the pinky. I think it looks cute.
As soon as I got home from getting my nails done, I got to work on my gift for my class (lip balm, sugar scrub and soap 100% homemade). Unfortunately I wasn't quite on schedule (I was supposed to finish the gift the day before) Anyway, making that stuff took forever, I was up till 9 making it. Then I had to shower. I'd told myself I'd go to bed early that night since I had to get up early the next day but...
Anyway on the morning of graduation/ yesterday morning I woke up at 5:30. Slowly, I got my breakfast and brushed my teethies. Then I woke up Zia. She helped, lie, she did my hair and makeup for graduation which was really nice of her. She didn't even get to eat breakfast before going to school.
Anyway, after Zia left, I went upstairs and started making packages for the gifts for my classmates. I just cut a paper plate and folded it up. I didn't have any better packaging. But hey, it worked out. I ended up being 8 minutes late because I was working on the packaging. So if any of my classmates are reading this, THAT GRADUATION GIFT TOOK LITERALLY FOREVER TO MAKE. *smiles sweetly* love you guys. <3
We had to get to the school at 9:45 for pictures. (or 9:53 for me.) Turns out we actually didn't have that many pictures, we just stood in front of the stage in pretty much the same position as all the parents snapped pictures of us, but hey, it's cool.
I found it amusing that all the guys matched with their purple tie/bow ties (for the Peppelmans) and then the girls were just like bleh. Mrs. Hogan Fiona's mom, is a florist so she brought in these adorable little bouquets for the girls and purple boutonnieres for the boys. The girls were supposed to put the boutonnieres on the guys.... Lol that didn't work out too well since none of us knew how to do so. I tried, Atticus! I tried.
As we were standing in the hallway behind the gym, waiting to walk out, I had a mini heart attack. I was kind freaking out. Let's just leave it at I get nervous easily.
You know how when you were younger you could really feel it when it was Christmas and as you got older the feeling you had on Christmas was just normal and nothing special? It was kinda the same with Graduation. I always thought I'd feel different on graduation like feel that it was graduation. But I didn't. So graduation felt so surreal, like a dream, like it wasn't actually happening. But it did happen. I'm pretty sure..
The graduation ceremony went by very quickly. And shockingly, I didn't trip and face plant on the stage. Though I did take my diploma with the wrong hand... Aw when the kindergarteners gave us the flowers? It was adorable.
Fiona was our class speaker. She did great. Her speech was funny and well written. I really enjoyed listening to it. Nikos Casto was the Valedictorian for the boys. His speech was hilarious. It was about the 'war' going on between the boys and Dr. Feerrrar throughout the whole year. I was laughing the whole time. He was a good choice for Valedictorian.
After the class speakers, Dara and Zach presented the class gift- donating money to Nepal. Then the slideshow. It was great, I'm disappointed that we don't get a copy of it. In the slideshow was a recording of the 8th Grade Girls singing Appreciated by Rixton. I used it in the video I posted on Youtube, which I'll link to below. Feel free to like and subscribe to my channel! (In fact, I encourage it.)
After graduation we walked out and screamed and all that stuff. Then the parents and friends and family and all that stuff came out to congratulate us and give gifts and take many many many pictures. Here are a FEW
For my graduation lunch, I chose to go to Kyoto, my FAVORITE RESTAURANT. Can you guess what kind of restaurant it is? SUSHI, of course.
Picture
After graduation my Aunt Sandy and Aunt Sue left to go home :(. Then I went home, changed into my bikini and waited until 3:30-- there was a pool party at the Trautmen's-- I didn't actually swim at all. It was a very short party- ending at 5. I then went home and worked on editing together my video (as I said before I'll link to that below) (Like and subscribe) and then my dad made me a hot dog which I didn't want/eat and then I showered.
I was doing great on time and then Zia said she couldn't do my make up for the dance party... So I was late because I did my own (and I know next to nothing on make up so I had to work really hard at making it look almost mediocre.) And then the dance party turned out to be mostly in the dark...
The parents planned out the dance party and it was really cute how much effort they put into it. So parents, if you're reading this, THANK YOU! It was a lot of fun.
The dance party was club themed, which was cool. There were three main rooms, the club area where there was a dance floor, strobe lights and next to no lighting, and a 'bar' that served sparkling apple cider, strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas. The next room was the food area with a air hockey table and the last room had the 'photo booth' and T-shirts that read Club 2k15. Then there was an area out back with chairs and an area out front with a fire. I spent the majority of the party hanging out with Atticus and just kinda floating around. We went down to the fire for a bit because he was really cold. Then we went back to the main house area. I didn't dance much because I SUCK at dancing and also don't get how to do it. (Yeah, I'm dumb) but when Shut up and Dance with Me came on I had to dance. Atticus just kinda awkwardly stood there. As soon as that song ended we went back out of the dance room. Then we did shirt signing in which I obnoxiously signed a lot of people's shirts very large. It was fun.
Anyway that was the last time I'll be seeing Nikos and Lance Casto for a while (they're moving). Bye Castos! I'll miss you guys in next years geometry class.
Is there anything else I'm really dying to say? Nope not really. Thanks for reading my blog!
I'll see you guys next time,
-Anj

GRADUATION (+ the other stuff)

Hey Anji! Remember you have a blog? Oh crap. Whoops! Sorry, guys! I've been busy! So.... I'm graduating this week! I know, I know, middle school graduation is nothing compared to college and high school and all that chip, but hey, at the moment it's kinda big for me.
I know, in a year or years I'm going to look back at my blog and be like wow, I was such a dweeb and I thought I was cool. Heh, no. Like now, I look back at my old videos and stuff and I'm just like "Why, past Anji? Why?" Like I know that even now my taste in fashion sucks (Emma, I still don't know what a blazer is???) but back then. Oh dear. Why, Anji, why?

I can't believe graduation is this soon, yet at the same time, I can. Like I can totally tell that I'm feeling done with school because I took four plus hours tonight to pump myself up for the last two sentences on my homework. Also, I'm just ready for a blissful summer. I'm ready for my break. I'm also totally feeling done and read to leave BACS.
At the same time... I don't want to leave (yet I really do). If you know me, I'm not really into change. And leaving Elementary/Middle School and going into High School is a really big change. All the sudden THIS WEEK I've started to feel nostalgic. Previously I've just been totally ready to leave but now that I'm actually leaving.... I don't know, I have mixed feelings.
Last Friday was May Day Play Day slash Field Day. That was fun like first through fourth grade for me. Now it's my least favorite day of the school year. Actually, it was, because-- NO MORE FIELD DAYS FOR ME! YESSSS.
Last Friday was also awards. If you were unaware (which you probably were because I didn't want to tell anyone incase I didn't get it) I really wanted the Academic Award. So this year I upped my game in my academics.
Our school gives out three big awards: Academic, Charity and Outstanding Student (I don't like the name). The Academic Award, if you couldn't tell from the name, goes to the student with the highest grades. Two academic awards are given out to a girl and a boy.
The Charity Award is given to students who go the extra mile to be nice and well, charitable. I knew I was never going to get that award, haha.
And the Outstanding Student (still think the name sounds pretentious) Award goes to a mix of charity, good grades, leadership, and all the stuff people should look up to in a person. That was really horrible grammar, sorry, guys
If you were unable to guess by now- I GOT THE ACADEMIC AWARD!!! Okay that was my little time to cheer. I almost cried before because I didn't think I'd get it and then I almost cried after because I was so happy. Thankfully, I didn't. The whole school was in that room.
UPDATE (10/21/15) Look what I found http://brynathynchurchschool.orghttp://brynathynchurchschool.org/news_items/8th-grade-award-winners//news_items/8th-grade-award-winners/  :)The boy who got the academic award is Nikos Casto, which is a surprise to no one. That guy is brilliant.
Then for the Charity Award, no boys received it but two girls did- Hannah King and Dara Rogers.
Outstanding Student? Zachary Lambertus and Caroline O'Hagan.
CONGRATS to all the other award winners.
Another newer award that got given out this year in a different awards thing is the Citizenship Award. The plaque for that is so nice. Camryn Buss and Atticus Boatman got those awards (no surprise there).
Atticus, if you're reading this, I'm proud of you.
Camryn, AWESOME JOB!
So this is our last week here... ever. And at BACS, all the days in the last week are 'half days' like our fridays. I have a vague feeling this week will seem very short and graduation will be over before I know it. Like I mentioned before, graduation is feeling kind of bittersweet to me right now.
If you all can, come to my graduation! It's at 11 AM at the Bryn Athyn Church School on June 5, 2015. It'll be really cool if y'all come.
I'm really excited because Fiona is our class speaker, I'm sure she'll make her speech a lot of fun to listen to. Nikos is the boy's valedictorian.
As a graduation gift to my classmates, I'm making exfoliating sugar scrub bars, lib balm and soap. It's not much, but, jeez, the ingredients are expensive.
I was also really bored this past weekend so I made lemon raspberry cupcakes, caramel cupcakes and lemon raspberry cheesecake all from scratch.

Except, I didn't actually want them so I gave them all away.
Why didn't I want them? Let's just say my bikini body isn't exactly ready for the summer that's already here. (my exact thoughts, "Lol what bikini body? Hint: there is and never was one.")

Yeah, it's so bad I had to cut the picture.
Anyway, as I said before, this week is probably going to go by very quickly. Tomorrow I'm going to lunch with friends and then getting my hair trimmed. On Wednesday I'm staying home and crafting for my friends. Thursday I decided to go to lunch as my last lunch at BACS. Then Friday? Graduation! Graduation then graduation lunch and then pool party and then a dance party. And I'm getting distracted so I'll just end the post off on that note :)

MAJOR Life Update Part 2. (Birthday Party, Dancing & Mother's Day)

As you may have red in my last post, my birthday was in April. Recently-ish I had my birthday party. It was a lot of fun. We did pretty much the same thing as last year, Sushi then Cold Stone then a sleepover. I had Camryn Buss, Serena Boyesen, Ursula Friesen, Dara Rogers and Fiona Hogan over. It was a little awkward because it was mostly a dinner party and Serena is on a specific diet,Ursula and Dara aren't the biggest fans of seafood and Camryn only likes a few things. So really, during the dinner Fiona and I were the only ones really enjoying ourselves, which was making me feel bad. Serena's meat came out too raw so she had to send it back to be cooked again, but after that I think she was fine. Camryn ended up choking on seaweed in the Sushi, Ursula didn't like what she got (ordered something else) and Dara, she came later so she isn't in the picture.
Awkward in the picture how everyone looks effortlessly gorgeous and them I'm just there like... hi.
After dinner was Cold Stone, which I felt a little awkward about, too because, Serena's diet. Luckily everyone else was able to get something. At Kyoto (my favorite Sushi restaurant ever) they figured out it was my birthday so they came down with a big drum, sang happy birthday to me and gave me a free ice cream dish. Rather embarrassing, actually. I was laughing the whole time in embarrassment. When we got back to my house, we all went into my room and just hung out for a while. Serena knows how to do this muscle testing thing so we had a lot of fun seeing what people think and things they didn't know about themselves. Once Dara came over I opened presents. Camryn got me this really cute dress from Forever 21 that I wore on ballroom dancing week 4 (look below.) It's an extra small, which I was shocked to find fit me. Then we played a few stupid games. Watched a movie and fell asleep watching the movie. The next morning I felt super bad because Fiona had to leave due to a migraine. She is now banned from sleepovers at my house for the time being. Ugh.
The next morning Dara left (Serena had left the night before) and Camryn and Ursy were the only two remaining. We ended up shopping at the mall for the excellent mother's day mall sales.
From the mall, I bought two white strapless dresses from Charlotte Russe, heeled boots (on sale because they were out of season!) and oh yeah, a crap load of things from Bath and Body Works.
Remember how I had that post about a flashback to Ballroom Dancing? Well ballroom dancing is back! Well, it's about to be over but I'll write a little about it anyway. Some people don't like it, but I find ballroom rather enjoyable. We've learned the Cha Cha, Tango, Jitterbug and uh one I can't remember and this friday we're having the final dance which is two hours and we have to dance with the 7th Graders. Not that I'm complaining, it's just the majority of the boys in that class are the same height or shorter than me... and I have an affinity for heels.
Mother's Day was this weekend! And guys, I decided to work really hard on Mother's Day. All Saturday I spent getting my mom' gift ready. I made two scented candles, scented soap and a exfoliating sugar body scrub (IT REALLY WORKS). If you want soap or body scrub I'm thinking of starting to sell it, so... And trust me on this one, they smell amazing and work great. Mother's Day was a little disappointing since mom was tired all day, but that's okay.
I've found some new friendships in the last months or so, too. I've befriended my old friend, Atticus Boatman recently. He's a really cool guy, a lot of fun to talk to and willing to listen. Camryn, Serena and I are becoming friends.
So I'm trying desperately to think of new topics to talk about, like I can think of them when not blogging but when blogging? Totally blanking. Sorry guys! I'll write soon (graduation is just around the corner)

MAJOR Life Update Part 1. (Wedding, Rock Climbing, Random Stuff)

Sorry for picture blurriness, obviously I didn't take it.
Hmm.. What happened since the last time I posted a WHOLE MONTH AGO? (sorry about that, to say I've been busy would be an understatement) The answer to that question? A whole freaking lot. Where to begin? Did I talk to y'all about graduation yet? Well that's coming quickly and it's just around the corner. Yeah, I'm actually graduating this year. The thought that comes into my head about that is FINALLY. Seriously, I've been in BACS long enough. If you want to come to my graduation it's at 11 (I think...) at the Bryn Athyn Church School on June 6th. You should come! It's a boring ceremony but it means a lot to the graduates *smiles sweetly*
My BIRTHDAY was last month! I turned fourteen on the 22 of April :D I'm not sure how I feel about the whole bing fourteen thing. I still wasn't used to be thirteen. You may be wondering, what did Anji get for her birthday?
This year wasn't a big year for presents, but I'm very satisfied with what I got. Usually I have a specific thing I want for my birthday but this year I realized I'm pretty satisfied with what I have. There wasn't anything I was dying to get. Though, I am really happy that I got a Jambox. It's nice having a portable speaker :D As a gift my parents also offered to buy shelves for my room, which may be more costly than we originally thought.
See, my dad and I went to Ikea the weekend before my birthday and looked at shelves. We realized that the studs in the wall are so close together that it'd make the shelves (trusses?) be weirdly close together. So now we're considering getting me another bookshelf, but if you've seen my room, you'd know there's no room at the moment for another. We'd have to completely rearrange my room which would mean having to buy new drawers for the other side of my bed, also. Actually, I wouldn't mind moving my bed away from the wall a bit, it would make making the bed 900% easier.
The school year is drawing to a close, which is weird because I can remember my first day in 8th grade like it was just yesterday. As a team bonding experience, the 8th Grade Girls go rock climbing every year. If you were unaware, I have a devastating fear of heights. For a long time before this rock climbing trip I was sure I would 'splat.' Climbing the wall for the first time was very  nerve racking. It felt like hours. I don't know how long I was actually climbing the first time but... There was a place where I was like 4 feet close to the top and I froze. I was the first person to make it up that wall and the second in my class (very close to first) to make it up the walls at all. I ended up climbing the wall five times and making it up four. The one time I didn't make it up was when the wall was slanted outwards and by then my limbs felt hideously enflamed. I tried that wall again. And I made it up. Then I was done with it. Rock Climbing was a fun experience though I'm not sure if I'd want to try it in my free time.
On the wedding topic? My cousin's wedding was this month. I'd been looking forward to it FOREVER. And it was a lot of fun. My dress is shorter than the pictures make it look, I swear. We drove up to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania for the wedding. It was about forty minutes away from Bloom, but I didn't really mind.
The wedding was really beautiful and the reception was well thought out and enjoyable. I thought it was very interesting seeing a Christian wedding as of the fact that at the moment, I'm New Churchman (Swedenborgian is the official name but hey New Churchman sounds better)
Ballroom Dancing started too, but I think I'll get to that in another post because, jeez, I need to post more.

Laziness at its Finest

4/6/2015

Jeez, when was the last time I posted something on this blog? Feels like its been ages. Sorry about that, I've been busy lately. So we had a four day weekend and horribly sadly its ending tonight. I really don't feel like going back to school. I don't know, actually, I do. After eight years I definitely feel done with BACS. I had the time this weekend to write an actual post maybe even that promised long post(s) on my wonderfully amazing vacation to St. Kitts. (That, unfortunately had to end, too.) But did I put time aside to do it? No. Why is the title to this post 'Laziness at its finest'? Because ever since Saturday night I've been addicted to Supernatural. Don't know what Supernatural is? It's a TV show from 2005, actually, it's still going. Apparently I'm not the only one who finds this show addicting. Seriously, I've watched over three and a half seasons in two and a fifth days. That's pretty impressively lazy, huh? I have problems with getting obsessive with things, mostly books and TV shows. Literally all I've been doing Sunday and Monday was watching this addicting Tv show. It's a problem, I know. Confession? I'm watching it right now. I also did some homework, but I've been feeling really useless and lazy because I wasn't able to do what I planned on doing this weekend. I didn't finish my book (been in a reading stump and this ultra long book is just making me drag my feet whilst reading it) and I did't make any good blog posts. So I decided to get over a little of my laziness and make a blog post over my super random life.
What else can I talk about? Oh! On Friday I got my graduation dress! It's a little, okay, it's gigantic, but we're going to get it fitted to me soon. On Wednesday (after G-Fit) I'm going to get one of the three dresses fitted to me so I can wear it to my cousin's wedding.
Actually, I wasn't completely lazy this weekend, I went to G-Fit on Saturday. I didn't go today though :( I was too busy with my homework. So yeah, I missed a chance to not be lazy this weekend... Ugh.
Is there anything else to really say besides me stressing how lazy I am? Uh... can't think of anything. So...
Peace out,
Anj

Play Showing

Incase you were unaware, our eighth grade play has a showing this Friday in Heilman Hall at 7 P.M. You should come, especially if you didn't see the actual sowing of the play. Even though I messed up multiple times during that dress rehearsal, it would still be pretty awesome if we got an audience. Like at least a slightly large audience. Especially since practically no one came to our performance Tuesday evening.
So anyway, if you can come, great! That's really all I have to say for this post, my post or posts on Spring break should be coming soon :)
